Coming Up
September 15, 6 PM - Chapter Social - Join us at the home of Jack and Peggy Lyden for our beginning of the year chapter social. This is the perfect opportunity to meet and visit with other church musicians/organists in the area and hear about upcoming programming. Members are asked to bring a side dish to share. Main course and drinks will be provided.
October 20, 6 PM - ADVENTure in Music - Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception - Members are invited to play their favorite pieces of Advent/Christmas music that they (and their congregations) particularly enjoy and find useful during the season. The music should still be available for purchase so that people can obtain copies of pieces they would like to learn themselves. Joe Setzer will be our host.
November 1, 2 PM - “It’s a Fright!” - John Hutchinson in a concert of music for Halloween - Spring Hill Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall - John Hutchinson will perform music for the Halloween season on the Hutchinson Hauptwerk Organ. There will be an audience sing-a-long of Pumpkin Carols and lots of spooky treats! It will be a FRIGHT!
November 17, 6 PM - “The Choral Blueprint: Frameworks for Rehearsal Organization and Tone Development” with guest clinician, Dr. Micah Bland - Location TBA - Dr. Bland is the newly appointed Assistant Professor of Music and Assistant Director of Choral Activities at the University of South Alabama. Chapter members and guests will have the opportunity to hear from Dr. Bland who brings a new perspective on choral music to the Gulf Coast.
